Goal 101 Books- Result 1,362!!!

Kangaroo Kids under the direction of Miss Veronique Berrios donate 1,362 books to Bridge of Books Foundation

Thanks to everyone who donated to help Kangaroo Kids Child Care and Learning Center spread the joy of reading to those less fortunate! Kangaroo Kids Book Drive, led by Miss Veronique Berrios, teacher in the Discovery Preschool classroom far exceeded her goal of 101 books. Thanks to the efforts of families, students, teachers and the community 1,362 books were donated. Veronique involved all the children at Kangaroo Kids in the project from start to finish as they make copies of the flyers, collect the books and shared in the many details of conducting a community service project. Plus, the entire school created bookmarks to send with the books. All her efforts demonstrated to young children the importance of help others.

All books will be donated to the Bridge of Books Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed to get books into the hands of the under-served children of New Jersey. Bridge of Books will disseminate the books to countless places where they are needed, including childcare centers, adoptive service groups, family centers, schools, and the New Jersey Youth Corps.

Community Service is an important aspect of preparing children for the future. We can make a difference by giving our time, energy and resources to others to make the world a better place.
