Helicopter Patrols Scheduled For Bridgewater

Weather permitting the choppers will be hovering in the area for about one week, officials said.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ —Low-flying helicopters will begin flying over the Bridgewater area beginning next week as JCP&L scans their equipment.

The patrols are expected to begin on Aug. 11 and are estimated to last up to one week. However, this is dependent on the weather.

Helo-Air will be coming to the JCP&L Region and will begin performing Routine patrols on all JCP&L 500kV, 230kV, 115kV lines. The helicopters to be used for these patrols is the Helo-Air, Blue and White Bell 206, Tail number - N894HA.

The helicopter will be conducting a routine visual patrol of the structures, conductors, and all associated hardware on the transmission lines where the onboard inspector is looking for any outstanding issues or immediate threats to the reliability of the transmission lines, according to JCP&L.

Residents may see the helicopter hovering and/or circling to get a closer look at any problems that may be found during these patrols.
