BRIDGEWATER/RARITAN, NJ — The state has released information that shows how much your school district or charter school will pay teachers in the 2018-19 school year. See where Bridgewater-Raritan regional School District ranks in the state and in Somerset County.
Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District pays teachers a median salary of $73,371, which is the fifth highest paid in Somerset County and 119th highest in the state.
Branchburg Township, which borders Bridgewater, pays teachers a median salary of $67,049, which is 10th highest in Somerset County and 243rd in the state. While Somerville pays $64,536, which is 13th in the county and 316th in the state.

Northern Valley Regional in Bergen County takes the ultimate top spot in the Garden State with a median salary of $108,867. The lowest salary median in the state was Classical Academy Charter School in Passaic County which came in at No. 659 with $42,000.
The information is part of the state Department of Education's Taxpayer's Guide to Education Spending, which shows the median salary in every New Jersey school district and charter school. Overall, 273 school districts make more than the state median of $66,150. And it's not just the big towns or the regional districts that pay the most: Indeed, Brigantine is a great place to get a teaching job, where the median salary is $93,275.

In addition to median salaries, the site also shows each district's total spending, average daily enrollment and students from sending districts, the per-pupil costs and the district's total budget spending for 2017 and 2018.
