Hot Air Balloons Take Flight Over Somerset, Hunterdon Counties
The New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning was able to take to the air Saturday. Guests have one more chance to see them fly on Sunday.
READINGTON, NJ — Weather conditions were finally in favor of balloon lovers on Saturday as hot air balloons were able to take flight on a perfectly clear summer evening.
Due to windy weather on Friday night, hot air balloons were unable to take to the sky at the New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning.
Weather was iffy on Saturday but the winds died down to allow the balloons to fly roughly around 6:45 p.m.

The festival runs through Sunday giving patrons one more chance to see the hot air balloons take flight.
Weather permitting, the last balloon ascension is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The largest summertime balloon and music festival in North America, is taking place at Solberg Airport in Readington for the 39th time, from July 29 to 31 this year.
For just $12 to $15 per child or $32 to $40 per adult, Jerseyans can get general admission to see 100 hot air balloons ascend into the air, all while listening to live music and bands.
Along with hot air balloons, patrons can watch helicopters take flight or pay for a ride, watch as the human canon shoots into the sky, along with food trucks, drinks, vendors, amusement rides and much more.
