House Fire Sparks, Residents Evacuated In Somerville
Fire departments from Somerville, Raritan, Bound Brook, Finderne, and Manville all came to help.
SOMERVILLE, NJ — A house fire was quickly extinguished due to fast-acting volunteer firefighters in Somerville on Friday.
At around 12:45 p.m., Somerville Fire and Raritan Fire were called to a reported house on fire on Adams Street in Somerville.
Firefighters arrived to find a single-family private home with fire conditions on the roof and smoke from the side of the building.

Officers evacuated residents from the home, said Somerville Police Captain Anthony Brattole.
A Somerville Police Officer reported there was a fire under a solar panel on the roof.

The fire was quickly extinguished and contained.
There are no reported injuries, said Brattole.
Along with Somerville Fire Department, responding units included Raritan Borough Fire Department, Finderne Fire Department, Manville Fire Company #1, Somerset Fire & Rescue Co. No. 1, Somerville Rescue Squad, and Somerville Police Department.
