It's already started to snow in Bridgewater, but forecasters expect much more to come Friday night into Saturday.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — It's already started to snow in Bridgewater, but forecasters expect much more to come Friday night into Saturday.
Bridgewater could be in for a lot of snow, but predictions vary.
The National Weather Service placed Somerset and Hunterdon Counties under a winter storm warning from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday. The agency expects accumulating snow to begin Friday evening, becoming heavy at times through Saturday morning and diminishing that afternoon.

But Bridgewater may get less snow than much of New Jersey. The National Weather Service predicts 12-18 inches of snow along the Jersey Shore.

"Stay home if you do not need to travel!" said Bridgewater Police in an alert to residents.
There is no parking on Snow Emergency Routes. If a vehicle is parked there it will be removed from the roadway once snow has fallen and covered the roadway. Vehicles parked on a snow emergency route are subject to a summons and tow at the owner's expense.
Trash cans and recycling containers should also be kept off the roadways as the plow driver may not see these obstacles or may go around those obstacles leaving these areas un-plowed.
"The Township will not be responsible for any damage to trash cans, recycling containers, basketball hoops, street hockey goals, etc. damaged during snow plow or salting operations. It is the owner’s responsibility to have these items relocated or removed," according to police.
Residents with a fire hydrant in front of their homes are also asked to help fire departments by clearing the area in case of an emergency.
If you lose power, contact your local power provider and not Police Communications unless an emergency exists (ie. power line causing a fire or blocking a roadway):
