Husband, Wife Duo To Open Club Pilates In Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Flemington husband and wife, Karen and Todd Spidare, are teaming up to open a Club Pilates at the new Bridgewater shopping center, Chimney Rock Crossing.

“I had always loved Pilates,” Karen Spidare said. “And when I heard about Club Pilates I fell in love with their mission.”

The franchise location will open at 334 Chimney Rock Rd. beginning Oct. 4 with a planned grand opening celebration on Nov. 17.

Spidare worked as a corporate trainer before leaving her career to raise her three children. She ran a photography business for awhile, but now that the kids are grown she is following her passion.

Both Spidare and Todd have always been passionate about fitness so opening a Club Pilates was a natural fit.

The studio does offer Pilates, but Spidare wants locals to know there is much more to their fitness club than just Pilates.

“Pilates is the cornerstone of every class but we want to offer a variety,” Spidare said.

The new studio offers full-body workouts that improve posture, balance, flexibility and strength. It is open to anyone, as it has four class levels and eight signature group class formats that utilize a variety of equipment, including Reformers, EXO chairs, TRX, Trigger Point, springboard and Barre.

“Everyone can benefit from Pilates, in our Flemington location we have members from 14 all the way to 80 years old,” Spidare said.

Spidare noted that the studio offers a workout for athletes who are involved in other activities to supplement into their routine.

Along with owning and operating the studio, Spidare will also teach classes and is a certified trainer herself.

The Bridgewater location is the second of four studios for the Spidares. The Flemington location opened earlier this year and the next two locations will be in Princeton and Hillsborough in 2019.
