BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A temporary ramp is being constructed to reopen access from I-287 north to I-78 east in Bridgewater after a sinkhole emerged, said New Jersey Department of Transportation.

The heavily traveled ramp has been closed since June 19.

"In addition to grading and paving, the construction of the temporary ramp requires the installation of proper drainage, as well as lighting for safety," said NJDOT Spokesman Steve Schapiro.
