Immaculate Conception School in Somerville will close for two weeks and implement learning from home due to new coronavirus concerns.

SOMERVILLE, NJ — Immaculate Conception School in Somerville will close for two weeks and implement learning from home due to new coronavirus concerns, school officials announced Friday.

Immaculate Conception School will be close Tuesday through March 27. All school-wide activities, including athletics, will also be canceled until further notice beginning on Saturday.

"During this closure, our school buildings will be thoroughly cleaned and maintained. While we anticipate a return to school on March 30, we will be monitoring the situation to ensure that it would be appropriate to return at that time. Any adjustments to this time frame will be communicated accordingly," the school stated.

The school closure announcements follow an update on Thursday that a Bridgewater resident was among six new presumptive positive cases of the coronavirus, state officials announced.
