Increased Risk of Brush Fires Today in Somerset County

There is an elevated risk of brush fires today in Somerset County.

The combination of gusty winds, along with low humidity and drying fuels will lead to the increased risk this afternoon, The National Weather Service issued in an alert this morning.

"Winds will gust from the southwest up to 25 mph and relative humidity values will be lower to around 30%," the alert stated.

Local fire departments such as Bernardsville are alerting residents through Facebook of the impending danger.
