Kangaroo Kids Teachers Keep on Learning

Early Education Impacts a child's brain development. Teachers attend a statewide conference on educating young children.

The most crucial time in a child’s development is from birth to three years old. Experiences children have in these early years can impact their brain development more than at anytime in their lives. Therefore, the adults who care for and educate young children must continue to learn and grow. Kangaroo Kids teachers are setting the foundation for future learning and in an effort to provide the very best environment for children Peggy Jones, Lead teacher in the preschool class, Theresa Slaight, Infant room teacher, Jackie Russano Weiss, Co-Lead teacher in the Waddler Classroom, Preeti Mital, Lead Teacher in the Infant room, Vilma Day Coordinator of Kangaroo Kids Spanish Program, Fatima Pidany, Co-Lead teacher in the Waddler room, Martha Marquez, Discovery Preschool teacher, and Diana Flores, Lead Teacher in Discovery Preschool attended a state-wide conference on Early Childhood Education.

The conference was presented by the New Jersey Association for the Education of Young Children (NJAEYC). The keynote entitled, “What If Today Was Their Only Day?” was presented by world famous Lisa Murphy. Kangaroo Kids teachers attended workshops in curriculum, classroom management, assessment, literacy, dual language learners, health, safety, learning environments, and connections between the body and brain.

Kangaroo Kids teachers came back invigorated and enthusiastic about their careers, their new knowledge and their opportunities to positively impact young children’s development.
