BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Construction on the beloved KidStreet Playground in Bridgewater is officially underway, announced the Township.

"Many of you may remember that last year we initiated the process to improve KidStreet and give it a facelift. Today we are pleased to let our residents know that construction has officially begun," said Bridgewater Township Government on Wednesday.

KidStreet playground off Garretson Road will remain open to the public during construction. However, the Township asked visitors to "respect any areas that have been cordoned off for your safety. These restricted areas will move around the park as work is completed."

The project includes labor and materials to complete the repairs including asphalt roofing and fasteners, pressure washing and staining all existing fencing and playground features inside and out.

The project will also install new fence top rails to re-secure and replace 4X4 fenceposts in certain areas, replace seat and backboard benches, and replace seating boards at the sandbox.

Additionally, there will be a roof replacement of sheathing and the 30-year shingles of the play post office.
