Deteriorating Bridge Prompts Closure For 2 Weeks In Bridgewater
Bridgewater Township was in the process of repaving the road when parts of the bridge were found to be deteriorating with exposed rebar.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The Kline Place bridge in Bridgewater will be closed for around two weeks for repairs.
The township was undergoing paving work on Kline Place in the Finderne section of the township on Wednesday when workers discovered parts of the bridge were deteriorating with exposed rebar, said Deputy Township Administrator Wells Winegar.
The bridge falls under Somerset County's jurisdiction. The Township contacted Somerset County and a county engineer will be coming out to the bridge for repairs on Monday, Aug. 28.

As a precaution, Bridgewater decided to close the bridge and roadway between Pearl Street and Morton Street, said Winegar.
Repairs are expected to take about one week from when the engineer arrives.

In the meantime, drivers are asked to seek an alternate route.
