Live, In-Person Somerville Holiday Jubilee Returns In 2021

SOMERVILLE, NJ — The annual Holiday Jubilee in Downtown Somerville is returning on Friday, Dec. 3 in-person for the first time since the COVID pandemic.

The 2020 event was previously switched to a virtual celebration that aired live on Vimeo and Facebook due to the pandemic.

This year, the celebration returns live and in-person to the streets of Downtown Somerville beginning at 5:30 p.m. on the main stage on Division Street and will feature a variety of performances and activities including Santa Claus in the district.

"The Holiday Jubilee is one of our most exciting and highly anticipated events of the year," said Natalie Pineiro, Executive Director of the Downtown Somerville Alliance. "There is nothing quite like celebrating the spirit of the season right here, where the unique history and charm of Somerville create a magical backdrop to celebrate the Holidays with family, friends and neighbors."

Holiday Jubilee Live Entertainment Division St. Main Stage:

• Black Belt World - 5:45 - 6 p.m.
• School of Rock - 6 - 6:15 p.m.
• Elite Dance Center - 6:15 - 6:30 p.m.
• Somerville High School Chorus - 6:30 - 6:45 p.m.
• Studio L Bridgewater - 6:45 - 7 p.m.
• Santa's Arrival - 7 - 7:15 p.m.
• Floor is Yours Dance Center - 7:15 - 7:30 p.m.
• Jersey Harmony Chorus - 7:30 - 7:45 p.m.

Following Santa's arrival and the holiday tree lighting, there will also be free carriage rides, photos with Santa, hot cocoa and cookies, holiday crafts and more.

Holiday Jubilee Ongoing Entertainment:

• Strolling Carolers 6 - 9 p.m., Main St. and Division St.
• Strolling Characters from Disney’s Frozen (Anna, Elsa and Olaf) 6 - 9 p.m., Main St and Division St.
• Free Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides 6- 9 p.m., pick up at the Giardina Walkway and United Reform Church
• Free Photos with Santa 7:30 - 9:30 p.m., United Reform Church
• Free Hot Chocolate (4 stations - Giardina Walkway, Mannion's Irish Restaurant and Pub, Village Brewing Company, & United Reform Church) 6 p.m. - while supplies last
• Free Cookies (Giardina Walkway) 6 p.m. - while supplies last
• Magic 98.3 van appearance, games and charging station 6 - 9 p.m.

The Holiday Jubilee is a free community event sponsored by RAM Law, Somerset County Tourism, and the Downtown Somerville Alliance with support from the Borough of Somerville, the Somerville Fire Department and the Somerville Police Department.
