Macy’s, Bloomingdale's Temporarily Closes In Bridgewater Commons

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Macy’s announced Tuesday that it will be closing all stores, including the Bridgewater Commons location, until March 31 in a response to the growing new coronavirus crisis.

The closures will go into effect at the end of business Tuesday.

"The health and safety of our customers, colleagues and communities is our utmost priority. As a result of the recent COVID-19 developments, we have decided to temporarily close our stores," said Jeff Gennette, the chairman and chief executive officer of Macy’s, Inc., in a statement released Tuesday. "We will work with government and health officials to assess when we will reopen our stores and safely bring our colleagues back to work."

The store closures include all Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Bluemercury, Macy’s Backstage, Bloomingdales the Outlet, and Market by Macy’s stores. Bloomingdale's also has a location in the Bridgewater Commons Mall.

All three brands will continue to offer customers the ability to shop for products online.

Nordstrom also announced Tuesday that it will close all stores for two weeks.
