Man Accused Of Sex Assault At Knifepoint In VA Arrested In Somerset County

The victim woke up to Alexander Maximiliano Soto Hernandez entering her room armed with a knife before sexually assaulting her, said police.

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — A man wanted for sexual assault with knife was found and arrested in Somerset County on Tuesday.

On Monday, Feb. 26 at 7: 50 a.m., police went to a home in the Woodbridge area of Prince Wiliam County, Virginia to investigate a sexual assault.

The victim, an adult woman, reported she woke to find Alexander Maximiliano Soto Hernandez, 42 of Woodbridge, VA entering her room armed with a knife, said Prince William County Police Department.

Soto Hernandez reportedly sexually assaulted the victim, said police.

The victim was able to get away from Soto Hernandez and leave the home where she found a neighbor who helped her to contact police.

Soto Hernandez reportedly fled in a Dodge Caravan that was originally silver and is now painted black after-market, with New Jersey license plates, said police.

Officers determined Soto Hernandez was renting the basement in the same home as the victim.

On Tuesday, Feb. 27, Soto Hernandez was found, arrested, and taken into custody in North Plainfield.

Soto Hernandez was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery, one count of forcible sodomy, and one count of abduction with intent to defile.
