Manhunt Update: 2 Charged With Car Burglary In Somerset County
The two men were arrested after speeding away in a stolen car, crashing into a police car, and running on foot, authorities said.

MANVILLE, NJ — Two men were arrested following a manhunt that involved a car chase, helicopters, and a foot chase overnight on Monday in Manville.
Andrew Barros, 19, of Eliot Avenue, Queens, New York and Rasheen N. Alston, 19, of Wells Road, Camden, South Carolina were both charged in connection with the manhunt, said Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.
At around 11:40 p.m. on Monday a caller reported two men driving a Ford Edge on South 7th Avenue, parking it on the road, and trying to break into vehicles on the street, said Robertson.

When Manville Police talked to the two men, identified as Barros and Alston, Barros immediately revved the SUV's engine and sped away from police, Robertson said.
The SUV was reported stolen by New York City Police Department out of Forest Hills, New York. Manville Police chases the stolen SUV before it crashed into a marked Manville Police vehicle on Lincoln Avenue causing heavy damage, said Robertson.

Barros and Alston then got out of the stolen vehicle and fled on foot. The New Jersey State Police Aviation Unit was called out and both men were caught by Manville Police.
Police searched the stolen car and found burglary proceeds from reported Manville burglaries inside, said Robertson.
Barros was charged with second-degree eluding, third-degree burglary, third-degree receiving stolen property, third-degree resisting arrest, and third-degree criminal mischief.
Alston was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree joyriding, and fourth-degree resisting arrest by flight.
Both were taken to the Somerset County Jail pending a bail detention hearing.
