Motorcyclist Killed After Crashing Into Tree In Bridgewater

Brian McAndrews of Piscataway was driving a Harley-Davidson on Garretson Road when he drove off the road Monday, police said.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A motorcyclist was killed after crashing into a tree in Bridgewater early Monday morning.

On Monday at 9:23 a.m., Bridgewater Police went to Garretson Road near the intersection with Route 28 for a report of a fatal motorcycle crash.

Brian McAndrews of Piscataway was driving a 2019 Harley-Davidson Iron 1200 west on Garretson Road.

For unknown reasons, McAndrews drove off of the right side of the roadway where he hit a tree, said Bridgewater Police Office John Kennedy.

McAndrews was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed that the crash occurred sometime between 2 and 5 a.m.

During the investigation, Garretson Road was closed between Route 22 and Mahnken Drive for most of the day on Monday. Read More: Serious Car Crash, Bridgewater Roadway Reopens

This crash is still under investigation by the Bridgewater Township Police Department's Traffic Safety Bureau and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
