In recognition of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in partnership with Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Foundation (CDBCF), a N.J.-based organization which serves underprivileged and vulnerable women by ensuring the availability of top-quality breast-health services, Bridgewater Commons, located along I-287 at the intersections of Route 22 and Route 202/206, will unveil Embrace Hope, a photographic mural featuring six Connie Dwyer Breast Center and foundation staff members, each tirelessly dedicated in their work to care for women in N.J. diagnosed with breast cancer.

Comprised of striking black and white photographs of these unsung women’s healthcare heroes including a physician, ultrasound technologist and biopsy navigator beautifully captured by celebrated N.J. photographer Joy Glenn, each portrait will be displayed with a personal message of hope and testimonial about that individual’s role in the ongoing fight against the disease.

“Advocating for women’s healthcare never goes out of style,” said Bridgewater Commons Marketing Director Tom Kovacic. “Our center is honored to not only partner with Connie Dwyer Breast Cancer Foundation, but to recognize the critical role these compassionate and hardworking medical professionals play in diagnosing, treating, comforting and supporting their patients afflicted with this disease.”

Embrace Hope, located on Bridgewater Commons’ Main Level across from Build-a-Bear, will be on display through Sunday, Oct. 31. There, passersby will be able to scan a QR Code on the mural enabling them to conveniently and easily donate to CDBCF. In turn, Bridgewater Commons will proudly match 100% of funds raised through Oct. 31 which will be earmarked by the foundation to purchase new medical and diagnostic equipment, hire much needed medical staff members and provide patient transportation services to/from appointments.

“Now more than ever, underserved women in New Jersey need our help during these unprecedented times. The pandemic may have put taking care of our health aside, but as we all know, cancer doesn't wait,” said CDBCF Founder Connie Dwyer. “We are grateful to Bridgewater Commons for their support and their generosity in matching donations the Embrace Hope mural raises during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. From the radiologists, technicians, oncologists, surgeons and so many more who work incredibly hard to deliver outstanding patient care and play a crucial role in the fight against breast cancer, it is exciting their work is being celebrated at Bridgewater Commons.”
