The Golf Division of the Somerset County Park Commission has announced that the 2019 NJ State Golf Association (NJSGA) Amateur Championship will be contested at Neshanic Valley Golf Course (NVGC), 2301 South Branch Road in Neshanic Station, NJ on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, July 9, 10, and 11, 2019.
The 118th NJ State Amateur Championship, presented by Provident Bank, is one of 25 NJSGA championships for men and women. This championship will feature the state’s top male amateur golfers who qualified for the event with competitions at Quail Brook Golf Course, Francis Byrne Golf Course, Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club, and Cobblestone Creek Country Club in June.
The 2019 championship is only the second amateur tournament to be held at a public golf course in the 117-year history of the event. Golfers will compete on the Lake and Meadow nines at NVGC. The course has previously hosted the 2009 NJSGA Women’s Amateur Championship and the 2012 U.S. Women’s Public Links Championship.
