New, Moderate-Income Home For Military Veteran Available In Somerville
The Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity is accepting applications through its homeownership program.
SOMERVILLE, NJ — Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity (RV Habitat) announced they are re-opening the application process for a new, moderate-income Habitat home in Somerville. This home is designated for a military Veteran household.
Located on Grove Street, the ranch-style home will have two bedrooms, one bathroom, and about 1200 square feet. The price is $150,000.
"We are so excited to reopen the selection process for our very first Veteran household,” says RV Habitat Executive Director Melissa Flynn. “Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity believes everyone deserves a safe place to live. This is especially crucial for our Veteran community, which has given so much to protect that safety.”

The Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity homeownership program offers an opportunity to purchase an affordable home with no down payment and a zero-percent mortgage.
Homeowners are selected through an extensive application process. In addition to committing to regular mortgage payments, selected applicants contribute between 250 and 500 “sweat equity” hours, working on the construction site and at the Habitat ReStore, completing financial literacy training, and contributing to Habitat’s work in the office and community.

Reasonable accommodations are made for future homeowners who are unable to work on site due to a disability.
Habitat homes are truly community projects. Volunteers and generous donors fuel every step — from funding to planning, building to homeowner support.
