New Playground Equipment Arrives At Harry Ally Park

Alfred Brown Park will also receive its new equipment sometime over the next week, announced Bridgewater Township.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — New playground equipment has arrived at Harry Ally Park in Bridgewater.

Bridgewater's Department of Public Works began installing the new equipment at Harry Ally Park in the Finderne section of town last week.

"The installation and mulching will be completed this week, and our youngest residents can begin to enjoy the new playground features," said the township in an update on Monday.

Alfred Brown Park will also receive its new equipment sometime over the next week.

The Township Council unanimously voted to approve two resolutions at the Nov. 10, 2022 meeting to award a contract to Ben Shaffer Recreation for Alfred Brown Park Playground equipment for $59,857.89 and Harry Ally Park Playground equipment for $60,303.86. Both playgrounds at Alfred Brown Park, in the Bradley Gardens section of town, and Harry Allen Park, in the Finderne section of town, have not been upgraded in about 30 years.

The life expectancy of the new playground equipment is 20 years and is maintenance-free. It also comes with a 10-year warranty, said Bridgewater's Public Works and Sewer Utility Superintendent Dicky Shimp.
