Gallo is currently a police recruit with the Morris County Police Academy.
"What I admire about Thomas is he didn’t wait for the Bridgewater Police Department to call him. He started to forge his own path to obtaining a police career by applying to and being accepted into the alternate route program by the Morris County Police Academy," said Chief John Mitzak.

Gallo was born and raised in Hawthorne, he attended Hawthorne High School where he played baseball and several instruments in the band.
He has a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Wikes University.
"I think this is very cool. While in college, Thomas worked for the radio station WCCBH where he was the director of metal and rock," said Mitzak.
Up until recently, Gallo worked for the Franklin Lakes police department where he was a per diem dispatcher.
Mitzak noted that all of Gallo's references said he "is very mature for his age, a hard worker, and has a good sense of community which we look for in Bridgewater."
