NJ Festival Of Ballooning Is Saved: Sponsor Secured For 2020

READINGTON, NJ — Great news for balloon lovers: The highly popular and anticipated annual New Jersey Festival of Ballooning for 2020 has been saved. A new sponsor has stepped up to allow the festival to take flight for its 37th year this July.

"With the generous support of a new title sponsor - which we will reveal in the very near future - we're excited to announce that The New Jersey Festival of Ballooning will return to Solberg Airport in Readington, NJ the weekend of July 24 to 26," according to festival's website.

The mysterious sponsor, however, has not yet been revealed. A call by Patch to Howard Freeman, executive producer of the festival, was not immediately returned.

The festival will announce next week when tickets for the 2020 festival will go on sale. The sale will also include a "very special discount" for loyal "balloonatic friends."

The festival's fate came into question after long-time sponsor QuickChek decided to pull out. Freeman had to secure a new sponsor by Jan. 31 to ensure there is enough time to plan for the festival for this upcoming July. (See Related: NJ Festival Of Ballooning Could Be Canceled, Needs Sponsor)

Without a title sponsor the festival was in jeopardy of not continuing in 2020. Freeman pushed back the deadline after he said he got a call on Jan. 28 from an agency representing a client. (See Related: Fate Of 2020 NJ Festival Of Ballooning Still Undecided)
