No Power Until Next Thursday For Some In Bridgewater, PSE&G Says
Roughly 491 residents in Bridgewater remain without power on Friday morning with some not expected to get it turned on anytime soon.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Roughly 375 residents in Bridgewater remain without power on Friday night and PSE&G is now saying power may not be restored until next Thursday for some.
The majority of the 491 PSE&G customers in Bridgewater are expected to have power restored by Monday night but a portion of residents who are located off Mountain Top Road may not get power until Thursday morning.
"We understand that with so many customers working from home and with others unable to go out, you depend on us now more than ever. Our crews continue working 24/7 in 16-hour shifts to restore power across New Jersey," PSE&G shared on its Facebook page Friday morning.

JCP&L is reporting 197 customers without power in Bridgewater with an estimated restoration time by Tuesday at 11:30 p.m.
"Based on current outages and damage assessments, we expect to restore 85 percent of affected customers by the end of the day Friday. The majority of remaining customers in both the Northern and Central regions are expected to be restored by Tuesday, Aug. 11, at 11:30 p.m.," JCP&L tweeted.

Trees, limbs, wires and debris still remain an issue in the township as the DPW works to remove it. The downed trees are causing many roads in the township to remain closed including:
- Tower Road
- Birch Hill Road
- Bolmer Farm Road
- Charlotte Drive
- Long Road – Closed entire length
- Hillcrest – Between Washington and Warren Township Line
- Eisenhower Road
- Rector Near Croyden
- Twin Oaks – Between Steel Gap and Foothill
- Wimple Way
Help is also available for residents who remain without power.
Residents are invited to visit the tent at the Municipal Complex (100 Commons Way), which is in front of the police station.
Residents will be able to charge any critical devices and residents who have well water can use a hose to fill any personal containers.
The Somerset County Library Branch in Bridgewater has also set up additional power strips to accommodate device charging.
Residents should wear a mask and practice social distancing when using this resource.
Additionally, JCP&L is offering water and ice for its customers at the following locations:
- Kings, 450 Rt. 206N & Hills Dr., Bedminster
- Saker Shop Rite -Branchburg, 3166 Rt 22, Somerville
- Shop Rite of Bernardsville, 93 Morristown Rd (Rt 202), Bernardsville
- Kings, 100 Morristown Rd., Bernardsville
- Kings, 64 Mt. Blvd Brady Shopping Center, Warren
PSE&G has also set up several Customer Comfort Stations. Following physical distancing and state health guidelines, customers can receive free water and ice by driving up and opening their trunks so employees can place water and ice in it. The comfort stations will be open Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

- Bergen County Special Services Building, 275-285 Pascack Road, Paramus
- Kennedy Center (Willingboro Recreation and Parks Department), 429 John F. Kennedy Way, Willingboro
- Lawrence Township Municipal Building, 2207 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville
- Lumberton Township Municipal Complex, 34 Municipal Drive, Lumberton
- Steven Adubato Sports Complex, Near Branchbrook Park Drive & Bloomfield Avenue, Newark
- Warinanco Park Ice Skating Rink, 1 Park Drive, Roselle
For those with storm debris, Bridgewater announced it does not have the resources to be able to pick up that debris from all residents, but they will conduct brush pick-up for senior citizens on a limited basis. Seniors can find out more information by clicking here.
The Township also offers a free service to residents by allowing them to drop off any debris at the Township's yard waste site on Foothill Road behind Costco at 136 Foothill Road.
The facility is open:
- Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
- Saturday: 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Sunday: Closed
