Suspected Pepper Spray Causes Evacuation At BRHS
"A student possibly released pepper spray into the air, which is believed to be the cause of the odor," Bridgewater Police said.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — An odor caused Bridgewater-Raritan High School to be evacuated Friday at 11:45 a.m., police report.
"As a precaution, students were evacuated. There is no emergency," Bridgewater Police said.
The odor was reported in the high school's cafeteria and it was quickly evacuated. Police, fire and rescue immediately responded and found that a student possibly released pepper spray into the air, which is believed to be the cause of the odor, Bridgewater Police Lt. John Mitzak said.

Several students are being assessed by local EMS and the school nursing staff for possible exposure to pepper spray, Mitzak said.
Students have been allowed back into the school and the investigation is on-going. Police sent out an alert notifying the community around 12:20 p.m. on Friday.
