Bridgewater Cop Who Rescued Unconscious Driver From Burning Car Honored Nationally

Bridgewater Police Officer Noah Allatt was named as the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund's Officer of the Month.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The accolades continue to roll in for Bridgewater Officer Noah Allatt following his heroic rescue of an unconscious man who was trapped inside his burning car following a crash with a tanker truck on Route 22 on March 4.

Recently, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) announced Allatt as their Officer of the Month for March 2025.

"Officer Allatt’s actions reflect the dedication and service that law enforcement officers demonstrate across the country," said William Alexander, CEO of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. "His willingness to act without hesitation under dangerous conditions represents the highest standard of public service that law enforcement show daily."

The Officer of the Month Award Program is sponsored by the Police Unity Tour and recognizes federal, state, and local officers who distinguish themselves through exemplary law enforcement service and devotion to duty.

On March 5, Allatt responded to a vehicle crash on Route 22 in Bridgewater. When he got there, he encountered two vehicles that had become engulfed in flames following a rear-end collision.

While one of the drivers and a passenger were able to exit their vehicles, the second driver remained unconscious and trapped inside. Allatt quickly reached into the burning vehicle, removed the unconscious driver, and dragged the individual to safety. At the meeting, Allatt was honored with the Mayor’s Award for Exceptional Public Service (which Allatt is the inaugural recipient), a proclamation from the Town Council, and the award of Valor from the Bridgewater Police Department.
