Opening Delayed For Brazilian Steakhouse At Bridgewater Commons

Fogo de Chão also officially finalized its plans to come to Bridgewater when it signed a lease agreement earlier this week.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The opening of Fogo de Chão, the internationally-renowned restaurant from Brazil, is delayed. But a new opening date is on the horizon.

The restaurant announced this week it signed a lease agreement to open its third New Jersey location at the Bridgewater Commons, at 400 Commons Way, with a slated opening early next year.

The steakhouse has initially planned to open in Q4, likely by November.

This will be its first Somerset County location. The two other New Jersey locations are in Paramus (which opened this past February) and plans to open a location in Wayne.

Fogo de Chao, which means "fire on the ground," is a renowned steakhouse where chefs trained in a 300-year-old grilling practice derived from Southern Brazilian cowboys, or "gauchos," treat guests to a unique dining experience.

"We are excited to expand our presence to Central New Jersey and introduce the Fogo experience to the Bridgewater community," said Barry McGowan, Chief Executive Officer of Fogo de Chão. "We look forward to welcoming guests to our new restaurant soon to discover the Culinary Art of Churrasco and the very best cuts that Brazil has to offer right here in Bridgewater."

Fogo de Chao Churrascaria will be located next to the mall entrance in an open space across from Uncle Julio's and Cheesecake Factory.

Fogo features differentiated menus for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and group dining, and takeout and delivery options. You can view a full menu of offerings here.
