2 Hospitalized In Head-On Crash On Foothill Road In Bridgewater

A Bridgewater driver crossed the double yellow line into oncoming traffic causing the roll over crash on Monday, said police.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A Bridgewater driver crossed over a double yellow line into oncoming traffic causing a head-on crash on Monday, said police.

On May 20 at around 4 p.m., Michael Cerrito, 27, of Bridgewater, was driving a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, west on Foothill Road in the area Bayberry Road, said Bridgewater Police Lt. Frederick Brittain III.

Cerrito entered the eastbound lane of travel while driving west and hit a 2024 Toyota 4-Runner head-on causing the 4-Runner to overturn, said Brittain III.

Both drivers were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital for injuries sustained from the crash.

Cerrito was issued a summons for failure to maintain lane and careless driving.

As a result of the crash, Foothill Road was closed between Bayberry Road and Peter Par Road.
