PARK COMMISSION OFFICIALLY OPENS

SPRAY PARK AT COLONIAL PARK

SOMERSET, NJ – The Somerset County Park Commissioners officially opened its new Children’s Spray Park at Colonial Park located near Mettler’s Road in Somerset, New Jersey.

The 21-unit Spray Park is located behind the recently upgraded Morgan Pellowski Playground and in proximity to the Putting Course and Paddle Boats.

“The recommendation for the Spray Park was made in the 2005 Capital Facilities Study, as was the Pellowski Playground, Mountain View Park in Hillsborough, East County Park in Warren, Skillman Park in Montgomery Township, and other projects,” commented Geoff Soriano, Director of the Park Commission.

He concluded, “Our progress is a tribute to the Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Park Commissioners who continue to provide world-class active and passive recreation opportunities while being fiscally responsible to the taxpayers.”

The 6,500 square foot Spray Park on 1.6 acres is a children-only facility with parents permitted to accompany small children. The Park will be open this weekend through Labor Day from 10:00 A.M.to 7:00 P.M. The Park will be open weekends from September 7 to September 29, 2019 from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 P.M.
