Bridgewater, NJ- The Long Island Ducks defeated the Somerset Patriots 4-1 in game one of the day-night double header at TD Bank Ballpark Saturday afternoon.
The Ducks scored a run in the top of the first inning to take an early 1-0 advantage as Joash Brodin socked a RBI double.

Long Island added two runs in the top of the fifth inning to expand its lead to 3-0. Dan Lyons scored on a RBI double by Fehlandt Lentini and Cody Puckett recorded a RBI sacrifice fly.

In the top of the sixth inning Long Island plated another run when Brendan Harris smacked a RBI double increasing the lead to 4-0.
Somerset scored in the ensuing half inning as Eddy Martinez-Esteve laced a RBI single to make the contest 4-1 which would ultimately be the final score.
Josh Lansford (3-1) picked up the win with a scoreless inning pitched. Matt Maloney (2-2) suffered the loss, allowing four earned runs on nine hits in a complete game effort. Jon Meloan earned his third save of the season.
