Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots and Manager Emeritus Sparky Lyle will host a special awareness and fundraising event for the American Diabetes Association at TD Bank Ballpark for the Thursday, July 24th game scheduled for 7:05 pm.
Earlier this year, Lyle was named the Honorary Chair of the Step Out Walk To Stop Diabetes, the signature fundraising and awareness walk benefiting the American Diabetes Association. Every dollar raised through Step Out plays an important role in supporting the Association’s mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. The Step Out Walk To Stop Diabetes will take place at TD Bank Ballpark at Saturday, October 11th.

At the July 24th game, fans will be able to sign up for Sparky’s Team to help raise money for the fight against diabetes. There will also be other fundraising activities at the American Diabetes Association’s concourse displays including a chance to purchase game worn hats that the Somerset Patriots players wore the day Lyle’s #28 was retired. The hats will be available for $50 on a first come first served basis and one per person. Fans will also be able to purchase other autographs and memorabilia that Lyle will sign and a 50-50 raffle to help raise funds.

The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a Mini Bat presented by the American Diabetes Association.
