Tow Truck Driver Dead, I-287 Reopened Following Pedestrian Crash
All lanes on I-287 south have been reopened as of 7 p.m. after a tow truck driver was fatally hit by a vehicle in Bridgewater Wednesday.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A tow truck driver has been confirmed dead following a pedestrian accident with a vehicle on I-287 South in Bridgewater Wednesday afternoon, Sgt. Lawrence Peele said.
All local lanes on I-287 Southbound near exit 17 have been reopened as of 7 p.m. The roadway had been shutdown since 1:44 p.m. when the crash involving the tow truck driver and a vehicle was reported.
The identity of the driver is not being released at this time while family members are being notified, Peele said.

Whether the driver was servicing a vehicle at the time of the accident is unknown as police are still on the scene investigation as of 7:30 p.m., Peele said.
