Playa Bowls Is Hoping To Open Just In Time For Summer

SOMERVILLE, NJ — Memorial Day marks the kick off of summer activities and Playa Bowls has announced they are hoping to open before then.

Playa Bowls, the smoothie bowl shop, will open their first Somerset County location next to Wolfgang's Steakhouse on West Main Street in Somerville.

"Permits have been submitted to the town and we hope to have them back soon to get to work! Super excited to be coming to Somerville!" Playa Bowls told Patch.

In the beginning, Playa Bowls were mostly found in beach towns (Belmar was its' first location), but have begun spreading inland. They currently have over 21 locations.

Most smoothie bowls are made with acai berries and a mix of other fruits, and sell for about $10 a bowl.
