Playa Bowls Opens In Somerville

SOMERVILLE, NJ — Playa Bowls, the smoothie bowl shop, opened its first Somerset County location on Wednesday.

The new location is next to Wolfgang's Steakhouse on West Main Street in Somerville.

In the beginning, Playa Bowls were mostly found in beach towns (Belmar was its first location), but have begun spreading inland. They currently have over 21 locations.

Most smoothie bowls are made with acai berries and a mix of other fruits, and sell for about $10 a bowl.
