Pluckemin Inn Chef Joins New Wine Bar Run By NJ 's Only Master Of Wine

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — There is a new Executive Chef heading up the wine bar and tasting room run by New Jersey's only Master of Wine and Bridgewater native Chris Cree.

Kadon Barnwell most recently served as Chef de Cuisine at the award-winning Pluckemin Inn known both for its elevated cuisine and Wine Spectator Grand Award-winning wine program.

The Cree Wine Company announced Kadon will be overseeing the development of the new pairings menu, as well as special dining and catered private events at the wine bar in Hunterdon County.

"We’re excited to have Kadon joining our culinary team," said Cree. "Kadon’s creative new American cuisine with multi-cultural influences will help complement our expansive wine and spirits offerings."

Barnwell's knowledge of cooking with the seasons will be on full display at his first special dining event—Cree Wine Company’s Summer Harvest Wine Dinner on Friday, Aug. 26, beginning at 6 p.m.

The affair will feature the ingredients from local farms and food purveyors. The four-course dinner will pair with four wines specially selected by Cree.

In addition to the Wine Dinner, Barnwell is introducing several new dishes to the menu including Shishito Peppers, Seared Tuna, Shrimp and Grits, Edamame, and Fried Calamari.

The Cree Wine Company offers a wine bar and lounge, along with a patio for patrons to order a taste, a glass, a flight, or even a bottle. All wines available for tasting can also be purchased by the bottle or case "to-go."
