Police Stationed At All Bridgewater Public Schools For Security: Mayor

Bridgewater Police are stationed at every public school in the township for added security as the school year winds down, Mayor Moench said.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Bridgewater Police officers are stationed at every public school in the township for added security as the school year winds down, Mayor Matthew C. Moench announced Monday.

"With so many graduations and other large-scale events happening throughout the district this coming week, this is a necessary step for the Township to take to ensure the security of the school district and the safety of our children," Moench said in the bi-weekly electronic newsletter.

"This is an important safety initiative for our children and the schools they attend," he continued. "School security is a complex issue, and a long-term solution will require unity and collaboration throughout our community. However, this is an absolutely necessary step for this moment in time, and I thank the men and women of the Bridgewater Police Department for stepping up to make it happen."
