The Preschool Place Helps Fund Preschool Advantage Scholarships

BRIDGEWATER N.J.- Students at The Preschool Place & Kindergarten collected "Change for Children" which they chose to donate to Preschool Advantage for preschool scholarships. The students filled collection jars with almost 2,000 coins. Their collection totaled $170.87. The money will help fund preschool tuitions for students who will receive funding from Preschool Advantage to attend The Preschool Place & Kindergarten or another partner preschool for the 2019/2020 academic year. The Preschool Place & Kindergarten is one of 25 preschools in Somerset and Morris Counties that partner with Preschool Advantage, a non-profit organization funding quality preschool for local families who cannot afford to provide their children with early education.

"Teaching children the importance of helping others is part of our preschool and kindergarten curriculum. Our students were proud to collect coins and help others attend preschool! A quality preschool experience is the foundation for future academic success. It is our pleasure to be a partner school and support the Preschool Advantage scholarship fund in this way," said Preschool Place & Kindergarten Director Carol Rubnitz.

The donation was accepted by Preschool Advantage representatives Molly Dunn, Executive Director, and Enid Edelson, School Committee Volunteer. "It was thrilling to see how engaged the students were in the process and to hear their understanding of how their donation will help other children. The classes also had a great math lesson counting the change they collected," said Molly Dunn, Executive Director.
