The Preschool Place & Kindergarten Creates Art Exhibition

Bridgewater, NJ - Kinder Plus students at The Preschool Place & Kindergarten created and exhibited more than 100 works of art in a gallery style exhibition on April 8. The annual art exhibition is the culmination of a visual arts study in which the students learn about and create their own art inspired by well-known artists. The students utilized a wide range of art media to create their own masterpieces.

Kinder Plus teacher Mrs. Brainum said, “Picasso once said ‘every child is an artist,’ and we believe it! Every student became an artist through this art experience. Our students were thoughtful and expressed their own interpretation of the artist styles we studied, and they are very proud of their own creativity, effort, and achievement. Most importantly, the students had tremendous fun learning and creating.”

The students led parents and other visitors through the art exhibition. Parent Mrs. Loraine Buitrago said, “The art exhibition was fabulous! My daughter was so proud to share all her hard work with us. I appreciate the amazing effort and time dedicated by the teachers to this art exhibition. My daughter wants to hang all her artwork up in our house!”

Kinder Plus is a kindergarten enrichment program for students attending half-day kindergarten at Bridgewater public schools. “The Kinder Plus program is theme based in which time is devoted to each learning unit so students can truly explore each theme. Our students thrive on exploring new subjects and ideas which are designed to build their academic, creative, and social skills, and a love of learning,” said teacher Mrs. Brainum.
