'Register Ready' Helps Residents With Special Needs
Sign up if you have unique health or mobility needs so that responders can plan to assist you in a disaster.

Are you a New Jersey resident with special needs? Do you have a family member or neighbor who may need special assistance during a disaster?
Somerset County Freeholder Sara Sooy, public health and safety liaison, encourages county residents with unique health or mobility needs to sign up for Register Ready, New Jersey’s free special needs registry for disasters. “Hurricane season began June 1 and runs through November, so it’s important to plan now,” she said.
Register Ready gives residents with disabilities or access and functional needs and their families, friends, caregivers and associates an opportunity to provide information to fire, first aid and law enforcement agencies, so emergency responders can better plan to serve them in a disaster or other emergency.
