
The Somerset County Business Partnership (SCBP) is accepting reservations for the most significant gathering of the regional business community, the SCBP Annual Meeting & Celebration of Success, scheduled for Monday, December 12, 2022. The event will take place at the Palace at Somerset Park, 333 Davidson Avenue in Somerset, New Jersey, beginning with a networking reception at 11:30 A.M. followed by the luncheon at 12:15 P.M.
Among the events of the day will be the honoring of Tony Cava, MS, RPH, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Somerset, as the 2022 Citizen of the Year.
Cava has more than 35 years in health care administration. During his 7+ year tenure at RWJUH Somerset, he oversaw renovations that modernized nearly every part of the hospital campus, including the cardiology renovation and expansion project, a new Same Day Surgery Center; a new Rehabilitation Services Department, and renovations to the Maternity Pavilion, Radiology Department, and Behavioral Health Unit. Renovations are under way on the Eating Disorders Unit. Additionally, RWJUH Somerset became the first in New Jersey to offer primary care services to the LGBTQ+ community when it opened its Babs Siperstein PROUD Center in 2017.

Additionally, two 2022 Economic Vitality Awards will be presented, one to Iron Peak Sports & Events, a state-of-the-art sports and events destination in Hillsborough, New Jersey, a unique facility that provides an atmosphere of fun and purpose, while facilitating incredible guest experiences for the local and regional communities. The other recipient is MAINGEAR, a high-performance PC system integrator that offers custom desktops, notebooks, and workstations, handcrafted for precision performance and uncompromised quality.

The SCBP Annual Meeting attracts more than 500 people from the private and public sectors who gather to mingle while enjoying the food and ambience that make The Palace one of the area’s top venues for celebrations.
Business Partnership leadership will tell the story of Somerset County’s rise in economic prominence and the efforts to reclaim that status coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, the SCBP will recognize the 2022 Outstanding Citizen of the Year and the Economic Vitality Award recipients while setting the stage for the Business Partnership’s next year.
