Reward Offered For Dog Who Ran Away After Owner Hit By Car In Bound Brook

Bound Brook Police are asking the public to help find "Bonnie" who was last seen on the Bound Brook and Bridgewater border.

BOUND BROOK, NJ — The search continues for a female Sheltie named "Bonnie," who went missing after her owner was hit by a car in Bound Brook on Tuesday night.

"Bonnie was last seen in the area of Crusader Way near the Bridgewater border. As of yet there have not been any sightings and all local shelters have been contacted," said Bound Brook Police Department.

A $500 reward is being offered. Bonnie was last seen wearing her leash/collar. Anyone who sees Bonnie is asked to not chase her and instead call 908-917-7750.

On Dec. 12 at around 7:16 a.m., Bound Brook Police went to the area of Crusader Way and Washington Street for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian.

Officers found a 63-year-old Bound Brook resident who had been hit by a vehicle.

Officers and Emergency Medical personnel from Bound Brook EMS provided medical care and the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation, said Bound Brook Police Chief Richard S. Colombaroni.

The pedestrian was walking her Sheltie, "Bonnie" who ran from the scene following the crash.

"This incident reinforces the need for everyone, drivers and pedestrians, to use extra caution as Bound Brook is a town with heavy pedestrian traffic, especially in school zones," said Colombaroni.

Police are conducting the investigation.
