Route 202 Lane Closures Continue After Driver Suffers Medical Episode, Crashes Into Pole
Closures on Route 202 continue on Tuesday for repairs to the power and utility lines, said police.

RARITAN, NJ — Closures on Route 202 continue on Tuesday after a driver suffering a medical episode crashed into a utility pole in Raritan.
On Monday at 12:12 p.m., Raritan Police Officers were called to Route 202 South near Ortho Drive for a car crash into a utility pole.
A 66-year-old Flemington man suffered a medical episode, causing his 2018 Toyota Prius to leave the highway and hit the utility pole, said Raritan Police Lt. Everett M. Holt to Patch.

"As a result of the accident, the utility pole snapped, causing power lines and utility lines to go down across all four lanes of Route 202," said Holt.
The highway was closed in both directions for several hours, and there are still intermittent lane closures in the area on Tuesday as repairs are ongoing.

The driver was taken to a local hospital for a medical evaluation.
The Raritan Fire Department, Bridgewater Police Department, and State Department of Transportation helped at the scene.
