Route 22 To Close For Emergency Repairs From Tropical Storm Ida
Route 22 eastbound will close at 7 p.m. Tuesday for 24 hours between the I-287 interchange and Thompson Avenue/CR 525 in Bridgewater.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Route 22 eastbound will be closed for 24 hours as New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) conducts emergency construction in Bridgewater to repairs damages from Tropical Storm Ida.
The highway will close between the I-287 interchange and Thompson Avenue/CR 525 in Bridgewater beginning at 7 p.m. and continue for about 24 hours.
NJDOT's contractor, I.E.W. Construction Group, will be relocating utility poles, which will allow access for crews to repair the bridge carrying Route 22 eastbound over Middle Brook, according to NJDOT.

Route 22 eastbound detour:
- Motorists traveling on Route 22 eastbound will be directed to keep right and take the ramp towards Chimney Rock Road/Route 22 Service Road
- Turn right onto Chimney Rock Road, which becomes Foothill Road
- Turn left onto Route 28/West Union Avenue
- Turn left onto Thompson Avenue/CR 525
- Turn right onto the ramp to Route 22 eastbound
The Route 22 eastbound service road will remain closed east of Chimney Rock Road while repairs are being completed.
