Route 22 Lane Closures Expected For Nearly 2 Weeks In Somerset County
Roadwork on Route 22 in both directions will begin on Monday for median concrete barrier repairs.
NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Drivers can expect lane closures on Route 22 in both directions in Somerset County beginning Monday and continuing for nearly two weeks.
The work is for median concrete barrier repair and is part of an $8.5 million state-funded maintenance project.
Beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, until 5:30 a.m. Saturday, March 14, the left lane and shoulder on Route 22 East and West will close between Malcolm Avenue and the Walmart Shopping Center. At least one lane will remain open on Route 22 during construction.

The state-funded maintenance project focuses on repairs to concrete structures in Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Somerset, and Warren counties.
Motorists are asked to slow down and use caution when driving through the work zone. They should also expect delays.
