Runner Hit By Truck On Rt. 28 In Bridgewater
Breaking: A runner was reportedly hospitalized after being hit by a pickup truck Thursday afternoon, causing Route 28 to close for 2 hours.

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — A runner was reportedly hospitalized after being hit by a pickup truck Thursday afternoon, causing Route 28 to close for two hours.
William Hendershot, 50, of Raritan was driving his 1995 Chevrolet C-15 pickup truck and exiting Route 22 east onto Route 28 when he hit the runner around 2:28 p.m., Bridgewater Police Lt. Michael Maxwell said.
The runner, Jolie Kritzar, 44, of Bridgewater was running westbound in the eastbound shoulder of Route 28, when she was struck by Hendershot’s truck. She was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, to be treated for multiple injuries, Maxwell said.

As a result of the crash, the highway had been closed between Route 22 and Branchburg until 5 p.m. Thursday.
This motor vehicle crash is still under investigation.

The crash is being investigated by the Bridgewater Township Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau. Any witnesses or anyone with information regarding this motor vehicle crash are asked to contact Bridgewater Township Officer Frederick Brittain at 908-722-4111 ext 4178.
