School Board Meeting Changes, 3 Take Oath Of Office In Bridgewater-Raritan

BRIDGEWATER, NJ — Three school board members took the oath of office to serve on the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional Board of Education and changes were made to the meeting schedule during the reorganization meeting on Tuesday night.

Incumbents Ashish "AJ" Joshi and Jennifer Loughran were re-elected and Jeremey Li was elected in the November election over Philip Jones and William Atkins.

Steven Singer was selected as the Board President and Emily Calistri as Vice President.

"Thank you all for your support and I hope to live up to what I expect of this position and what the Board expects as well," said Singer.

Board members were also appointed to committees:

• Somerset County Education ServicesCommission - Barry Walker and Jeremy Li as alternate
• New Jersey School Board Assembly - Lanfang "Lucy" Li, with Michael Pepe as alternate
• Somerset County School Board Association - Rebecca Hassouna
• Bridgewater Township Representative - Jennifer Loughran
• Raritan Borough Representative - Michael Pepe

The Board also decided to make two changes to its meeting schedule including moving the meeting time up from 7:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and meet once a month for the majority of the year versus twice.

Board member Langfang Li noted that this change "might be difficult for people to get off work and make the trip. So I think it should stay at 7:30."

Walker asked the Board to try out the new schedule "and see how it goes. And we can revisit it as necessary if we don’t like it."

The meeting change was approved by the Board except for Jeremy Li and Langfang Li - who voted against it.

• Feb. 4, Regular Session
• Feb. 25, Regular Session(BOE Training)
• March 18, Regular Session
• April 8, Regular Session
• April 29, Regular Session (Budget Hearing & Adoption)
• May 13, Regular Session
• June 10, Superintendent Evaluation
• June 24, Regular Session
• July 29, Regular Session
• Aug. 26, Regular Session
• Sept. 9, Regular Session
• Sept. 23, Regular Session
• Oct. 14, Regular Session
• Nov. 18, Regular Session
• Dec. 16, Regular Session
• Jan. 6, 2026 Reorganization of the Board
