Registration now open for December River Rats

December River Rats program, a science and nature learning adventure for children age 5 to 8 years old, is taking registration now at the Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center, located at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge.

Children will join a naturalist for a weekend experience of hiking, observing, interacting with live animals, creating crafts and exploring the Great Swamp.

River Rats will continue each month, focusing on a new and different theme. River Rats will convene on Saturdays, Dec. 5, 12, and 19 from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Fee for the three-session program is $27 per child. Registration and payment may be made on-line at www.somersetcountyparks.org, in-person at the Environmental Education Center, via mail, or by telephone (if using a credit card) at 908-766-2489.

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.
