Somerset County Library System of New Jersey announced today that the system’s Museum Pass Program has expanded to include 10 museums and one zoo.

“The passes that are a part of our Museum Pass Program are constantly being checked out,” said Sue Kane, circulation desk supervisor at SCLSNJ’s Bridgewater Library branch. “This is a valuable service that our library branches offer to our patrons - and the patrons love it. At the circulation desk, we get to hear first hand from patrons how much they appreciate and enjoy being able to use these passes. We are so glad there are now more passes and more locations to visit.”
SCLSNJ’s Museum Pass Program came to the system over three years ago, after Lauren Ryan, SCLSNJ’s east area manager at the Warren Township Library branch, brought the idea to management. “Years ago, I started a museum pass program at another library, which was one of the first in the state to circulate museum passes,” said Ryan. “It was very well received by patrons. When I joined SCLSNJ’s team, I knew it would work here, too. The program gives us an opportunity to show patrons that libraries are more than books.”
Patrons can reserve a pass by speaking with an SCLSNJ librarian or by visiting SCLSNJ.org. If visiting the website, click on the Museum Pass tab at the top of the home page.
