Serious Injuries Reported After Car Crashes, Catches Fire Off I-78

New Jersey State Troopers are investigating a serious motor vehicle crash with serious injuries in Hunterdon County.

TEWKSBURY, NJ — Authorities are investigating after a car drove off Interstate 78 and ignited into flames on Friday morning. All lanes were closed as a result.

Troopers are currently at the scene as they investigate a serious motor vehicle crash with serious injuries.

The crash happened at 6:09 a.m. on I-78 East at milepost 24.8 in Tewksbury Township, Hunterdon County, said New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry.

After the car crashed off the highway it caught fire. Firefighters are currently on scene, said Curry.

Traffic is being diverted from the area of the crash, said Curry.
